Adam Thompson, Pattern-Based Infrastructure Architect

From Economic Vision to Technical Innovation

Twenty-five years ago, Adam Thompson recognized fundamental limitations in our economic systems that would require entirely new computational infrastructure to solve. This realization began a journey that would lead to Pattern-Based Infrastructure and a comprehensive ecosystem of innovations.

His approach has always been to explore beyond conventional boundaries. Rather than focusing on incremental improvements, he identified that the real barriers to human prosperity lay in the foundational assumptions of both our economic systems and our computing infrastructure.

The convergence of these insights led to a systematic approach: create the technical infrastructure needed to support entirely new forms of economic organization, then build the applications that demonstrate this potential.

Innovation Timeline

1999 - 2020
Economic Systems Analysis
Through 25 years of studying economic limitations, the need for new infrastructure to enable human prosperity became clear. This analysis revealed that current computing approaches couldn't support the peer-to-peer systems required for economic innovation.
2020
ThoughtWave Partnership Begins
Joined Paul Forest in developing ThoughtWave, recognizing it as one of the most innovative and needed projects for humanity. The partnership identified that true peer-to-peer implementation would require revolutionary infrastructure.
2022
Holochain Insights & Limitations
Through studying Holochain as the closest existing project to delivering needed infrastructure, fundamental scalability limitations were identified that prompted the creation of Pattern-Based Infrastructure.
2023
Pattern-Based Infrastructure Creation
Development of Pattern-Based Infrastructure to solve Web3 scalability issues and provide the foundation for true peer-to-peer systems. This began the systematic creation of ecosystem applications.
2024
Ecosystem Completion
Completed integrated ecosystem: FORE encryption for security, HoloDEX for unified markets, Merits System for new social contract, all powered by Pattern-Based Infrastructure.

Current Leadership

🧠
ThoughtWave
Chief Technology Officer
Providing technical direction for one of the most revolutionary projects in human development. Working to transform ThoughtWave (Created by Paul Forest) into a fully decentralized peer-to-peer application that can scale globally on Pattern-Based Infrastructure. This represents the convergence of advanced AI reasoning with true decentralized infrastructure.

Meritt System
Creator & Architect
A novel, virtues-centric mutual credit system designed to change humanity's social contract. Built on the premise that all value is created through the practical application of human virtues to meet real needs. The system builds trust as participants apply virtues to serve their communities, creating a virtuous cycle where creditworthiness grows through demonstrated virtue rather than accumulated capital.

Technical Philosophy

"Natural design principles guide this approach to computing. Working outside conventional boundaries to create infrastructure that aligns with the way reality actually operates."

This perspective comes from recognizing that most technical limitations stem from fighting against natural information patterns rather than working with them. Pattern-Based Infrastructure represents an attempt to align computing with the fundamental way information behaves in nature.

Key Influences & Collaborations

Paul Forest was instrumental in shaping the thinking about patterns and artificial intelligence. Their four-year collaboration on ThoughtWave has been essential in developing the vision for how pattern-based computing can revolutionize human reasoning systems.

Holochain, while having technical hurdles, significantly influenced understanding of currencies and the intelligent use of technology. Their approach highlighted both the potential and limitations of current peer-to-peer systems, directly inspiring the creation of Pattern-Based Infrastructure.

The convergence of economic insight, natural design principles, and systematic technical implementation has created an integrated approach to addressing humanity's fundamental infrastructure challenges.
